DCPS enrollment email? But all waitlisted?

| We only listed 5 schools and struck out in the lotto. Today, I received a DCPS enrollment email around 7pm congratulating me: “ Greetings DCPS Lottery-Matched Families, Congratulations on being matched to DC”Public Schools! We are so excited to have you be part of the DCPS community next year.” Only problem, when I log into my school dc, all my schools still have our waitlist number. Was the email sent in error? Is my school dc just slow to update and we actually got in somewhere? I’m so confused…. |

| Same here. Very annoying as we were waitlisted for SWW with a terrible number after the horrid SWW interview process. Of course I excitedly checked myschool again to see if there's was some mistake and we were matched. We weren't. |

| I got the same email after getting waitlisted for all schools on my list for pk4. I sent them a lovely reply. Not holding my breath for a response - I can't even get added to the DCPS wide emails that go out, since we are currently at a dcps, despite several attempts on my part. |

| My email suggested this was spam and said they couldn’t verify the sender , so I “reported it to spam”. Was it actually from dcps? What a blunder |

I got this too. Seems like it came from DCPS - but presumably an error...

| I got an email today from DCPS Enrollment apologizing for the email that was sent in error yesterday offering us a spot. My gmail also thought it was spam. And I found the original email offering me a spot in my spam folder. |

| Meanwhile, both of my kids matched at different DCPS (currently enrolled in a charter) and I just received an email that says "On April 4, 2022, you received an email notification regarding receipt of a lottery match to a DCPS school. That notification was sent in error, and we sincerely apologize for any confusion it may have caused." So I had to check my lottery results in a panic. |

DCPS just sent a corrective stating that email had gone out in error. I suspected as much.
(To anyone who likes to complain about DCPS remember that the lottery is run by MySchool through a contract. Contractors are a mess. But let's face it. This sort of stuff happens regularly everywhere.) |
