Va Tech for sure. They are building rockets and doing some pretty cool stuff. I have a fam member that goes to NC State now and wished she went to Tech or UVA. She’s an athlete.

Va Tech hands down.

Tech unless NC resident.

Virginia Tech is a much nicer campus; NC State might have more internships given its location in the Research Triangle area.

I'd go with Virginia Tech unless you're thinking about your kid flying home regularly from somewhere further away than the DC area.

Drive or fly? NCSU is closer to an airport. VT is hard to get to I've heard.

NC State alum here. I was a STEM, but not engineering, major.

My college roommate was from NoVa. She chose NC State for Electrical Engineering because it wasn't with "her high school." And Raleigh was surprisingly quick to get to. Of course, I-95 has become more of a slog now (compared to the late 80s and early 90s). She has gone on to do very well in her career.

Of course, VT had a much better men's basketball season than NC State.

NC State! Engineering school is continuing to grow.

NCST. research triangle, growing endowment, tons of opportunities.

VT is actually further from the DMV than NCST, and VT is located in the middle of nowhere.
