I’m looking for a memoir to read on vacation. Fluffy is fine. Can be serious but not depressing. I haven’t decided if I will do an audio book or not but sometimes that’s fun with a memoir. Any suggestions?
Tori Spelling’s StoriTelling. Ghostwritten by an ncs grad. Fluffy. Hilarious.
Not sure if it's best but I liked Padma Lakshmi's.
Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls
There’s a really riveting one that just came out— Never Simple.
Have you read Educated by Tara Westover?

Audio Book:
Trevor Noah's book Born a Crime If you grew up in the 80's - Rob Lowe's book Stories I only Tell My Friends I liked Bruce Springsteen's Book as well, appreciated his reflection on depression Becoming is a Whole other level If you missed Bossy Pants (Tina Fey), I enjoyed it. I read it as opposed to audio book and there were parts where I laughed out loud |
I read Lucille balls autobiography many years ago for a school project and actually want to reread it now. I also loved Tina feud bossy pants (I guess there’s a theme here.)
Tina Fey* |
Jane Fonda’s was really good.
Diane Von Furstenburg's was interesting.
Extremely random, but All I Could Bare: My Life in the Strip Clubs of Gay D.C. by Craig Seymour is a juicy beach read.
I really liked Padma Lakshmi’s Love, Loss and What We Ate. The kumquat chutney is excellent too.
+1 |
My Girls: A Lifetime With Carrie And Debbie, by Todd Fisher. Sometimes hilarious, sometimes poignant memoir by Carrie Fisher's brother.
