Boarding school recommendation

Any suggestions for boarding high schools that would be a good fit for a socially awkward, odd kid out girl ? She tends to also be anxious and does best with a structured curriculum.

Madeira seems welcoming to quirky girls, but not sure it would be structured enough.

Post on the "prep school forum" on College confidential. That board gets far more traffic regarding baiting schools. It was really helpful when we were considering schools.

I went to Emma Willard in NY. This student profile was common. It was a long time ago, but I had a good experience there.

Are you trying to stay close to DC? If not, maybe something Canadian. Trinity College School is quality traditional curriculum, international student body, and perhaps more welcoming to quirky kids than average

Maybe tell us the awesome things about your kid?

Where does she thrive? Is she an outcast because she’s funny in an offbeat way? It she super cerebral? Is she awkwardly and bitingly blunt? Does she completely inhabit the books she reads and live in those worlds and leave us behind?

Sorry, not trying to hijack the thread. That kind of stuff is critical to finding the right school. But also I felt kind of sad because you’re her parent and your post was not anything I’d want my parent to think or say.
