| We are a vaxxed family that got breakthrough delta in October. Boosted in January. I am really sick again. Feeling like smell and taste are waning, which happened with delta. Two negative rapid tests, though I don’t really trust those. Will try PCR tomorrow. |
| Boosted only helps for hospitalizations. Feel better soon. Good chance you got the new variant. |
|
Not our family, because we’re high risk and still relatively locked down, but we’re in an industry where people work in large groups close together and know several families who have had both Delta and Omicron (based on the prevalent strains at the timing of the cases). One kid has had COVID three times.
Omicron is just so damn contagious. Definitely get your test. Hope you feel better soon. |
| I know multiple people who have gotten both. Yes. It’s a definite possibility. |
| Keep in mind there are other non Covid things going around including a really bad cold. Lots of people getting pretty sick and repeatedly testing negative. With fewer people wearing masks/social distancing, all kinds of germs are going around again. Get a PCR but don't be shocked if it's negative. |
| Yes, a schoolmate got both. Whole family came down with it twice. |
| Jen Psaki! |
| Yes, my friend did. Had to go back to work in a maskless environment in the south pre booster. Caught Delta then and it was mild. Then didn't get the booster and caught Omicron, probably from her boyfriend. This time she was in bed for a week, but is recovering. |
| How would you know which variant you got? |
| Delta doesn’t give immunity to omicron. It’s very possible if you are acting live covid is over that you’ve gotten omicron. It’s rampant in my kids’ school (and I assume as a result, our town) right now. |
| Psaki did apparently |
I doubt the school is the cause of the uptick in cases. Usually school rates mirror community rates. I am a teacher and we haven’t had many cases throughout February and early March. This past week has been a huge uptick is cases in both the school and community. |
| We had covid about two weeks ago. I tested a few times when I felt awful and it was negative, so I assumed it was a cold and went about my business. Test came up positive about a week later. |
|
Yes. first week of September 2021 and last week of December 2021.
(vaccinated in Jan/Feb, boosted in October) |
|
definitely get the PCR.
Rapids don’t detect Omicron well in vaccinated/boosted people. |
