| What are the best restaurants for a special occasion for someone who eats vegan? Other diners are varied but everyone is happy to eat vegan, but also happy with a restaurant that serves other things too. |
| Fancy Radish? |
Have you been there? That’s one website I am looking at. |
|
OP here,
Another place I am thinking is Rasika, because I know they like Indian food. How is that for a vegan? |

We always take my vegan niece to Planta in Bethesda when she's in town.
The food is very good, as a non-vegan opinion. |
Always? It opened fairly recently. Fancy radish is really good. |
| Bad Vegan reminded my how awesome Pure was back in the day. A lot of places have had some incredible one off dishes but the way they pulled that off throughout and entire menu was impressive. |
Does Pure no longer exist? Or is their food just less good? |
| Oyster oyster, but you have to plan a while in advance |
This is someone we see pretty often, so it's good to know options for the future. |

Thip Khao is more of a casual restaurant but has amazing options for vegans (a separate vegan menu)
For special occasion Fancy Radish or Oyster Oyster would be my picks. |
| I love Equinox. |
I was chuckling at this too. Planta has only been open for about a month. I like both but I think Fancy Radish is just 100% amazing all of the time. Planta is amazing sometimes but some dishes fell a bit flat for us. I haven't tried all of the current dishes at FR but can vouch for the following as being out of this world: Rutabega fondue chioggia beet toast peruvian potatoes Desserts are always on point too |

Fancy Radish - I have been there a few times with people eating all kinds of diets, and everyone left happy.
I haven't been to Thai X-ing in years but they used to have an excellent vegan night. Not upscale but a fun atmosphere. Fare Well is really good, although I wouldn't call it upscale (but its not cheap). |
| Elizabeth's Gone Raw is excellent. |
