best timeframe in relation to your child's school schedule to move?

When would be the best date to move in a child's life?
1. 1 month - 2 months before the end of the school year? 2. A week before school ends? 3. Right at the end of the school year? Please, I would welcome your thoughts and opinions!! |

| Right at the end. And try to meet other kids in your new area before school starts. We did this through the neighborhood and new school listserves, community pool, etc. |

| If you can get them moved and in another school before the end of the year that would be optimal assuming they are below high school. This way the new school will make a big thing of their arrival and assign a buddy etc... and they can make friends before the summer. If you move over the summer and they start in the fall they will just be another kid. This is advice that I received when we moved our ES kids and it was spot on. Good luck. |
