Great Italian Restaurant in Fairfax to celebrate George Mason Graduation

Anonymous

My daughter is graduating from George Mason in May and we are looking for a great Italian restaurant in Fairfax to celebrate- must be a
bit upscale. Have loads of family coming in from out of state. TIA.

We enjoy Espositos.

Bellissimo can be good. Oddly the marsala, fish, tiramisu, and soups seems better than the pasta.

How many people? You could get a private room at Maggiano's in Tysons - they host parties and celebrations all the time.

Could try Rafagino’s

Agree Maggiano’s is great for a large group. We’ve done a few family parties there.

I’m a fan of Cantina D’italia in Fair Lakes if you don’t want a chain!

We like Ozzie's Good Eats in Fairfax Corner.

It’s not in Fairfax but Piero’s Corner is just off the Fairfax County Parkway near Chantilly. Also, Ciao Osteria in Centreville.

Oh I wish Villa Mozart was still open!!

Bonaroti in Vienna is upscale

I like Espositos but it’s not at all upscale. Bellissimo is the most upscale Italian in that area.

Bellissimo if you want to be really near GMU. Otherwise Maggianos at Tysons. I’ve done large groups there. It is nice to be able to get a private room, but I’ve been at parties there without a private room and that’s good too. It’s convenient to be able to put your order in for your family style meal ahead of times. It’s more like showing up for a catered meal than the sometimes time consuming process of eating at a restaurant with a big group. Also, some of the recommendations on this list so far would not be considered upscale.

It's a bit of a drive (still fairfax county though) but I've been wanting to try Thompson Italian.

Definitely Bellissimo- 5 minutes from George Mason. . It's white tablecloth and has a quaint dining room. LOVE the food- my favorite is the homemade crabmeat ravioli.
It has a cozy, upscale vibe - perfect for celebrations.
