if price were no object, what car would you get a teen driver?

And I don't mean a BMW although I am sure there will be people who respond with that answer . Price is an object for us but with new car prices being so close to used, we have abandoned the idea of spending under $15k. Cars I had considered reasonable first cars - gently used corolla, subarus, etc - are still upwards of $20k so I am broadening our search to include new and am trying to get an idea of what is out there. Thanks.

We are buying ours a Hyundai Elantra SEL for graduation from high school. She got a free ride for college and she needs a car to get to the barn and it is 13 hours away.

Wow, congrats to your daughter on her accomplishment! Also, those cars get great safety ratings!

Prius. Good tech, reliable, good gas mileage, but won't be the Party Bus.

So the roads get ever more dangerous. Maybe our grandkids can all drive tanks!
