IVF - Embryos to freeze

Anonymous
Can someone tell me the criteria a clinic uses to judge whether embryos can be frozen? My RE was very vague about what was frozen and told me they were "good" (CFA patient here). I know SG tells you very specifically the grade and letter of each embryo. I'm thinking the reason CFA doesn't do this is so people don't obsess over letters/numbers! What are other's experiences? I had 4 blasts make it to freeze, which I think is good, I just wish I knew if they were highly graded, or maybe this doesn't even matter much??

TIA!!

I'm a CFA patient and had the same experience. I had 9 5 day blasts frozen and was told they were all 'good' as well. My first FET didn't work, so we're on to round two.

Thanks PP. Do you mind if I ask how old you are? Did you have a fresh transfer as well?

PP here- I'm 39 and did not have a fresh transfer. I have PCOS and am pretty susceptible to OHSS, so my doc decided it was safer to freeze all my embryos. We transferred one in April and will try another single transfer this month (we're really trying to avoid twins because I have a history of pre-term labor).

I got pg from FET! It does work sometimes so don't lose hope!

OP, as far as I remember my clinic "graded" embryos by the number of cells (if you can call that grading). I got pregnant on my first FET and had a healthy baby. Good luck!
