Advice for c section delivery at holy cross

Anonymous
I'll be having a scheduled c section in a few weeks. If you have any advice please let me know!

I saw on dcum that HC prefers you to NOT use the nursery, and I didn't even see a nursery option on the HC website. Last time my twins were in the NICU and it was sad to be away but also a godsend for my recovery. This time l assume I'll be rooming in.

Any issues getting food? My last c section was in NYC and we were next to tons of food places my partner could walk to. I was really really hungry after so I am wondering if I should take a ton of snacks.

Any other things you recommend I bring with me to HC? Last time the hospital provided everything I could need (binder, mesh underwear, toiletries, etc.) so I only needed the obvious my clothes/nursing gown/pumping bra/eye mask/chapstick/phone charger. I imagine it'll be similar at HC.

Thanks.

I didn't have any issues getting food. They have a cafeteria and the hospital food. They are not always open, but I think there are food options nearby! I was fine with their food hours though, so we didn't use anything else. If you need something, you may need to ask them for it. I got a stash of some stuff but then at some point the doctor asked if I hadn't gotten x item and said I should ask the nurses. I can't think of anything apart from your personal stuff that you may need to bring. nursery was not open. Some people have complained of their beds (they had the ones for bedsores that shake all the time), but I had a regular bed. The nurses were friendly but a little hit or miss for support. Is this a repeat C-section? They didn't show me until the third nurse how to properly get out of bed, so I was in some unnecessary pain (and I didn't even know there was a different way). The lactation consultant in was helpful too. Overall it was fine! Good luck with everything!

Oh one additional thing, I do not remember them providing toiletries.

I had a scheduled c there years ago. Don’t remember much other than everyone was kind, the food was ok, and my night nurse was particularly good.
