| I just had to intentionally misspell "Biden" in order to get a comment to post. What's up with that? I mean, I get that there's a lot of vitriol on the politics page an all, but filtering out the president's actual name seems awfully over the top. |
*and all |
The person's name that you used is not the president which is ironic because you were actually pointing out that the individual is not the president. Maybe refer to your own post in order to distinguish between the president and someone who is not the president? |
Snark noted, but it doesn't address my question. Are you seriously saying you're blocking the use of a name unless it's in reference to one specific individual? |
|
Biden Biden Biden
It seems to work just fine. |
No, I am blocking the name of a private individual who holds no public office, has never run for a public office, never been appointed to a public office, and is not a politician. |
| Well now I'm curious. |
| Hunter Biden? |
Now I am dying to know who bezos? |
Lol nope |
NP post the thread link! What is the mystery here? |
Okay, but why? He is in the public eye whether we like it or not (I don't). I just don't see the point, that's all. |
| Junior? |
|
There is a thread where people are getting creative with how they refer to a particular person, but it would appear the block isn’t the name alone since it had been posted elsewhere very recently. Is it just blocked in a particular forum, or is it blocked when used with another specific word?
I get why you may not want to explain your methods, but I am curious. Also, if there is an entire thread about he-who-shall-not-be-named, should we report it? |
No mystery, just a thread about the President's son in politics. But, as Jeff acknowledged, his name is on the Forbidden List for whatever reason, so people have to intentionally misspell the name, use initials, etc. It's just odd. |
