Driving in a snow storm on 495 or 66 during HOV hours. Do the cameras work?

Anonymous
I was driving on 495 early Saturday morning during the hail and snow, and had a question/ thought. I was curious to know if anyone knew whether the HOV cameras work during a snowstorm with limited visibility.

The cameras are actually sensors making contact with the EZ pass in your car, no? Not cameras in the traditional sense of red light cameras.
The lasers are angled and algorithms are set to more easily catch cheats.

^ there are HOV cameras, that take IR pictures of the vehicles as they go by. to help catch folks who have the ezpass switch to HOV mode trying to get a free ride.

no idea if they work when its cold or with bad visibility

They work in the cold, dark, and in pretty poor visibility.

But if your plates are covered with snow, it doesn’t matter.
