High winds and snow this morning?

Just saw the forecast for winds 40-50 mph this am plus heavy snow fall. Is this a joke?

“Conditions are likely to be extremely hazardous for 2 to 3 hours Saturday morning (between about 8 and 11 a.m.) amid rain changing to sleet and heavy snow and VERY strong winds -- gusting to 40 to 50 mph. This will mean very low visibility and poor travel conditions irrespective of how much the snow is sticking to the roads. Snowfall rates may briefly top an inch per hour and we would advise not traveling if possible.”

We may not survive. Abandon all hope.

Just stay put this morning. It’s still pretty warm out there and it has been raining a lot. It will be gross until about lunchtime, but ultimately it shouldn’t mess up the roads long term - too warm and too wet.

I have an in person meeting at 11. Trying to decide if we need to reschedule. Bit nervous of going over 14th st bridge in wind.

VDOT asked people to stay off the roads for the morning. I'd cancel or move it online as a courtesy to others.

Online isn’t possible. But I definitely see your point. Was unaware of vdot advisement. Thank you.
