I don't have a daughter who played Club in college but know quite a few girls who have played & several who are currently playing. I would say it's been a good experience for each one of them. And from the description you give of your daughter, I would put many of the girls I know who play in the same situation. The girls love playing & don't quite feel like giving it up yet. Several who play are engineering majors (or other math/science heavy degrees) and appreciate the flexibility of playing club. Several are also in a sorority. They balance their time between studies, social stuff & lacrosse. The only piece I would say some of them don't necessarily care for is they're responsible for fundraising so they can travel to tournaments, purchase equipment & uniforms, etc. Not that big of deal but it does take extra time & efforts outside of practices & games. Each club teams is set up with officers (President, VP, Treasurer, Fundraising) and all have a faculty mentor or sponsor through the university who helps to monitor the legal things like fundraising, etc. The women I know who are playing are at larger schools.....Virginia Tech, Texas A&M, Florida, UGA....and they would have chosen those schools regardless of the opportunity to play club lacrosse. Being able to play is just an added bonus for several of them. Several are actually playing club at schools which don't offer NCAA or NAIA Varsity-level lacrosse. Each of the player's have all made great friends, have done a little bit of traveling & still enjoy playing. Good luck to your daughter.
