Is it someone who comes from family money?
Has degrees from prestigious universities? Someone who has a prestigious job? Country club membership? Self made money? All of the above? |
First define "social prestige". Your questions make it sound like it's about money so what is "social" about it? |
| What would anyone care if someone has a country club membership? |
|
Anyone fighting against the Russians in Ukraine has "social prestige" in my book. I don't care what school they went to or what country club they did or didn't belong to. |
| who really cares? |
| There is no real social prestige these days. In the past there were clearly identified social elites as society treated and venerated them as the elites. But we don't do it any more. Because no one cares. |

| Oh jesus, what a stupid question. If you ask, you ain't got it. Find something else to obsess about. |
Ivy League universities + some white collar jobs + medicine are prestigious OP. As far as "social prestige"-- those days of secluded neighborhoods, clubs, etc. are passe + not talked about. |
| Someone well read, well traveled, well informed and eloquent. It helps if they are friendly and kind. |
| Someone who doesn't need to post this drivel |
| What a boring question |
| Someone who drives a Tesla??? Does this work for you op? |
