Odyssey of the Mind?

I remember this from when I was a kid - is this around for middle schoolers now? Anybody have their kids participate from DCPS schools?

I did it when I was in middle school. It was excellent-- I vividly remember making out with someone from a different school at the finals.

My son and his friends did it in elementary, but they all lost interest by middle school.

LOL I met my first BF during a competition there! I clearly wasn't the coolest kid, LOL but too funny. Glad to hear I wasn't the only one!

I would love for my kids to participate in this, it was really a great experience all around. Our charter doesn't do it but I wonder if it just takes a parent to take the lead.

LOL. I had the biggest crush on someone from a different school who had zero interest in making out with me.
I loved participating in Odyssey!

If you are a straight girl in the balsa wood event you will have your pick. It's like being a straight boy at choir camp.

typically yes! Ours used to do it but the teacher champion who took it on has since left and it just sort of withered....

I wonder how a parent could support anything like this if we can't get inside of DCPS buildings.

If your kids want to go to first base they will love it. Ah, memories.

It's a fine program, but each kids experience is only as good as their coach.
