Please recommend shows we can watch with a teen and tween

Our son is 12 and a 15 year old girl from Europe will be staying with us for a bit. Her English is good but developing.

We recently enjoyed Ted Lasso with our son.

We like slightly spooky. I would recommend stranger things and Locke and key.

My dd is 13 and we loved all the recent Marvel series on Disney plus - especially Wanda Vision. Other series we have enjoyed as a family are Only Murders in the Building, Stranger Things, Around the World in 80 days, Mythic Quest, British Baking Show, Sherlock and currently trying Severance. Ted Lasso was great!

We have an 11-year-old son, and we've enjoyed watching Brooklyn 99, Superstore, and The Good Place together.

Opinions differ on what’s okay for tweens/teens to watch, do I encourage you to check either the IMDB Parent’s Guide or Common Sense Media. That being said, here are some suggestions that I think would be okay:

Eureka
Merlin
Mythbusters
Twilight Zone
Outer Limits
Once Upon a Time

The new Lost in Space on Netflix (especially if the kids like sci-fi and outer space).

Avatar the last Airbender
Babysitters Club (boy may groan but secretly like it)
Great British bake off and other cooking shows like Master Chef
Everyone Hates Chris
Glee
Full house/Fuller house

Old school:

Lost
X files

Newer:
Parks and Rec
The Office
For some reason, some of Gen Z loves Friends

For other American life views:
The Middle
Blackish
Modern Family
The Goldbergs

My kids started watching Austin and Abby on Disney plus and it’s light, funny and like an old school Saved by the Bell/California Dreams corny show. I think a foreign teenage girl would like it and a 12 yr old is right in the target.

I'm laughing at the BSC. My 11 year old son sat and played on the switch while his sister and I watched it. He also groaned, but that kid loved it, I know he did!
