Food for an event next weekend

Anonymous
A family member is hosting an event next weekend to celebrate a milestone for a family member.

I was supposed to do the cooking, but I'm sick and I don't want to risk sharing my germs. So, I'd like to purchase the food instead. We were going to do a buffet, open house type thing, with finger foods. The event will be all ages, maybe 40 people.

Any suggestions on someplace that could do this? I don't need dessert, another family member is in charge of that.

Mexican- chips and salsa/guac, mini burritos, tacos, quesadillas

You can pickup sand which trays and other stuff from wegmans, Panera, honey baked ham store, etc.

What had you planned to make.? Another option is to do Trader Joe’s frozen stuff and like cheese and crackers. If you want to minimize how much you touch you can get precut fruit. Cheese and charcuterie. Crackers. Then like frozen taquitos and chicken fingers. Frozen meatballs, toss in crockpot in bbq sauce

Or get bbq delivered. Use mini rolls and let people make their own slider sandwiches

Wegmans has a good catering menu if it fits your budget.

You are suppose to do all the cooking for a big gathering?
Why not just do it potluck. Whoever want to order platters can do it. If that doesn't work and you are still designated to do all the cooking, just order several platters.
If you want things like bbq, order from Mission bbq. Get the meat only and buy your own mini buns.
If the weather is nice, just do an outdoor bbq.

Few people want you to cook when sick. The party is next week, so you might be better by then.

Balduccis, Panera, Mobley dick, maggiano, Lebanese taverna, the Italian store, all work nicely for this.

+1

I've used it before, though for half as many people. Worked well.

I like to cook, and I do it well. I am one of 4 siblings, this is an event for one of the 4, so the other 3 of us divided things up. One sibling is providing the alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks, one the savory food, and one the sweet. The one it’s for is hosting at her house. I intend to hold up my end of the deal, just with purchased less geeky stuff.

We were going to sit down and plan this weekend, but I was already sick. My thought had been to suggest tapas as a theme. It’s not a sit down thing, more like an open house, spilling into the backyard come and go kinda thing.

Moby Dick. They have family platters. Their tray 5 is $550.

Cava (the original restaurant, not the Chipotle- type one) - we have used them on many occasions and always been pleased. Lebanese Taverna is another good option.
