Potomac 4th grade WL

Is there a chance the WL will move at 4th grade? Anyone know how many applicants they had vs spots? I really thought we had a chance. Do they have a priority list for WL?

Very unlikely. Apply again for 6th. It's very low odds to get into Potomac on the first try. If you're really interested, apply again for 6th, 7th, 9th. You need to look at this as a multi-year process and it is for many applicants.

I have a rising 7th grader who is an athlete but not the most academic and a rising 4th grader who is athletic and very strong academically so far. We didn’t apply to Potomac for oldest this year since he’s at k-8 private but did for my rising 4th grade and got WL. So if I am hearing correctly, we should try to apply for 6th grade and then again at 9th?

What about applying again for 5th especially if applying older one that year and have help from the K-8. Sometimes can be easier to get into a school in the off years if there are fewer applicants for that grade. Depends on attrition. Then apply again for 6th if it doesn’t work. Shows strong interest.
