For those of you who've cycled at Weill Cornell in NYC...

I see a lot of people either rented an apt/Airbnb once they were required to go up and monitor, or they took super-early trains (which was pre-COVID, so this is now a consideration..).

My question is, did you stay close to their main office on the UES or did anyone do their monitoring at a Cornell satellite office (e.g. Tribeca, Brooklyn)? My RE is Dr. Davis and this is my first cycle at Cornell. TRying to figure out where to stay and not sure if they recommend you staying close to the main office, or if I can do my monitoring downtown. I really would not prefer to stay on the UES, so am hoping monitoring at Tribeca is allowed.

Thanks!

I went to Westchester for monitoring sometimes . They didn't seem to care but some of the satellites aren't always open.

You don't have to stay on the ues even if you go to the main site for monitoring. I stayed with family in another boro and took the subway into the ues

Which doctors are at the satellite for monitoring?

I’d worry that it’s the B team making very important decisions to tweak meds.

The images go into the computer and Dr. Davis reviews makes the decision

The doctor measures follicles, etc. It’s an important data point.

Davis would be one of doctors monitoring so you might get to see him some days in UES.

I would just go to UES.

You don’t have to stay there. Wouldn’t Brooklyn be an easy subway ride up there?

Not to the UES.
You may as well stay on the UES or union sq area for a quick train uptown. Early trains will be too hit or miss from DC as Amtrak has been awful since covid and you’ll only go into Penn Station which is on the West Side and it can take 45mins to get to cornell from penn in the am. Not worth the stress.

You could try to call the nurse to ask about it. They won’t beat around the bush.

I cycled there a couple of times and just went to the main center in the UES. Once I got a tiny Airbnb in UES and once I stayed in Long Island city which was a quick train ride or taxi over to the UES clinic

I'm local in NYC but I was seen and monitored entirely at the Tribeca location. Two successful pregnancies with severe DOR. I live in Brooklyn and work in lower Manhattan, it's all easy commuting. There's also now a location in downtown Brooklyn. I saw Dr. Reichman I'm tribeca and he's fantastic.

As someone noted only the ues location is open on certain holidays etc so you might still have to go there depending on the day. But I think I only went there once (and can't count the number of tribeca visits I had).

And Dr. Davis told me he knows how each person measures follicles and takes that into account. Even on the ues, chances are you get a fellow measuring follicles. It's not always the doctor I stayed about an hour each way from the ues. It was a fine subway ride.

What about the Q or 4? Seems like a straight shot? I went down to visit friends and it was very easy. Granted that wasn’t in the AM commute.

I used to take the q to commute to the ues. Not a bad commute even during the am. It was precovid

I stayed on the Upper West Side and just walked across Central Park each day. Dr Davis was my doctor, but in my two cycles there, I think he only did my monitoring once. (Second cycle was successful.) Your retrieval and transfer will still be at the UES, so I agree that it makes sense to try to stay somewhere reasonably accessible to that location.

We did that 12 years ago and they had a facility you could stay at, basically across the street or around the corner. It wasn’t highly publicized, but see if you can find something about it. We were able to get rooms for us, my parents, and DH’s mom as they all helped us during that time.

You can monitor at any Cornell office. I live in NYC and saw dr. Reichman in tribeca. On weekends triebca was closed and I went to the UES for monitoring. All IUIs done there as well. That said, you probably want to see your own doctor on the ues as much as possible.
