- STOP spraying yourself in perfume or cologne. It's foul, especially when you go on a treadmill next to someone and they can't walk away. Shower daily, wear clean clothes, roll some deodorant under your pits. That's all you need to do.

- STOP taking cell phone calls at the gym. A quick 30 second appointment confirmation call? That's fine. A long conversation? Take your call, but walk away and take it outside or in the lobby. Or call them back later. Don't be rude to those around you -- we can hear your conversation even with the volume all the way up on our earbuds.

- STOP leaving your hairballs or shedding everywhere. Jesus, just find a trash can.

- STOP leaving your trash on the machines. Wipes, wrappers, masks... it's nasty. Toddlers shouldn't be at the gym. Adults pick up after themselves.

I'm astounded at the people who don't understand these very basic, very reasonable matters of courtesy.

I was totally ready to tell you to just deal with other people but nope. These aren’t just rules for the gym they are good rules for A LOT OF PLACES

LOL, yes, why is this specific to the gym?

You go to a gross gym. I really don’t see any of this done where I go. Occasional hair clump left behind in the shower- which yes, is nasty (would you leave that in your shower at home?) and people shouldn’t do. But it isn’t often I find this

OP here. Because it all happened in an hour. Went to choose a treadmill, and someone left their trash in it. I removed it because I'm a decent human being. 10 minutes later a woman doused on perfume goes on the treadmill next to me. I got up and moved to a different machine. A few minutes later, a man 3 treadmills away took a phonecall and was so damn loud even through my alternative and grunge 90s mix at max volume.

Then in the locker room, someone took all the hair from their brush or fingers or whatever and left it on a tangled tumbleweed on the flood. It was gross.

Yes people should STOP doing these things everywhere, but goddamn has being a moderately considerate adult gone out the window. And it happens in all locations of my gym chain (OneLife).

Exercise outside. Gyms are gross. Especially during a pandemic.

Yeah this seems well beyond normal humans being humans stuff.

I sprinted to this thread ready to tee off on OP, but everything she said is valid. Knock that sht off, people.

You are pretty tightly wound, OP. Let. It. Go.

I’ll add, don’t wear shorts that leave half your butt hanging out.

So gross when someone gets up from a piece of equipment and it’s covered in crotch and crack sweat.

Stopping scrolling on your phone while parked on a weight machine. If you need to rest between sets do it elsewhere.

What op? Those are nothing! I saw a woman cutting her toes nails and removing all the stuff around the nails on top of the counter in the locker room! Where you dry your hair or put your make-up on.
