| Anyone know? She was old and trailing behind him. |
| Probably the Sergeant at Arms of the Senate. It’s her job. She’s also a general. |
She’s probably a decade younger than Biden
|
Are you kidding me? All I thought was that woman is a mo-fo bad a$$. Shes either SS or Capitol/Senate police. She was constantly scanning the room and ushering Biden in and out of the room- along with the black gentleman. They were working together. |
https://www.senate.gov/reference/office/sergeant_at_arms.htm Thats who she is. |
Karen Gibson. |
This really makes me sad that people don’t know who these people were. She’s the SAA for the Senate Lt General Karen Gibson. She has law enforcement power to arrest a sitting president. The prior SAA resigned on January 7, 2021c the deputy SAA then became the acting SAA but when the republicans no longer had a majority Schumer appointed Gibson to become the new SAA (the acting SAA was very well liked among both parties and was asked to stay on as chief of staff). The acting SAA also was in charge of Biden’s inauguration after her boss suddenly resigned. This is a high powered political appointment. The man is the the House SAA, the Honorable William Walker. These two positions are some of the highest in the country. They’re not random people. They’re in charge of law enforcement and security of the House and the Senate floors. |
Had no idea they existed. Besides being involved in politics, living in DC proper, or looking for a website- how would I know about these positions? |
Right?!?! |
You wouldn't. I don't know why PP is acting like this is some well-known position. Aside from the Capitol Riots, its mostly ceremonial and even then the former SAA didn't do their job competently. |
+1 IIRC both the House and Senate Sergeants at Arms were asked to resign after January 6. |
| Karen Gibson. She's not some little old lady to be trifled with. Army Lieutenant General, former Deputy DNI for National Security Partnerships, Director of Intelligence CENTCOM, Director of Intelligence for the Combined Joint Task Force, and Deputy Commanding General for the United States Army Cyber Command. Schumer brought her on after 1/6 with the recommendation of Russell Honore. |
| Jeez, OP. You sound sexist and ageist. |
| If something happened how can that little old lady maintain order? Looks weak |
Your words are weak. Are you weak Republicans able to use words besides “weak” to describe people? |
