Or planning signs in yard on Friday/the weekend? Will current parents make welcome calls this weekend? Spill the beans about which school and what the plan is, please. Nosy and anxious people want to know.
No snarky replies needed! |
| Do schools really put signs in people’s yards just for acceptances? I would not want that! |
| I will be making calls to admitted families. My instructions are to call between Friday at 7pm and Sunday evening. |

I work at a local independent school and help with the big push on admissions weekend. I don’t know of any school that does yard signs for admitted students this weekend. That would be a bit much.
All of our phone calls to upper school students are made on Friday and we make calls to parents over the weekend. We mailed packets this morning. |
Me again. We mail packets tomorrow (Thursday) morning, not today. |
Do you already have your calling list? |
| Less than 48 hours |
Can you share the type of school, if not the name? |
No, I don't have my calling list. I won't get it until Friday at 7 -- they don't want to risk any leaks! Mainstream private discussed a lot here. |
|
Back to the yard sign question? Is that really something that happens?
I really don't want that. I'm a pretty private person and don't want my neighbors having that info or other parents judging our house/yard/car. |
No yard sign. No admission. No exceptions. |
You can pull it out of the ground! 😊 |
Haha! Fair! |
Yard signs for current students was a thing during lockdown. But admissions? Ew. |
some schools definitely did it My neighbor had a "future grasshopper" or some such thing from GDS in their yard. |
