Are black factory wheels low class / trashy?

Anonymous
Not an image I'd want to project but they are very common on new luxury cars and SUVs.

Who even thinks about this? Never occurred to me OP.

Umm, mine are black bc I don't care and see no need to spend more on wheels. I'm happy to spend on other areas in my life.

Yes, you need spinners... all the upper class have them.

+1 The only time I notice wheels are if someone has extremely flashy ones or spinners or something. I cannot handle DCUM's obsession with whether every single thing in the world is sufficiently class aspirational. Get a life OP.

I have never once even spent one second thinking about the color of my wheels.

In fact, I'd argue it's tacky TO think about that. But really, I don't care enough to even classify this.

Yes, they are disgusting.

My new outdoor vehicle came with them. I like them. No one would even consider me MC, go figure. Maybe it's OK for UC, trashy for everyone else...

I prefer my wheels to stand out so if there were two vehicles of the same make and model on the sales floor, I wouldn't buy the vehicle with black wheels.

The black matte rims look good on certain vehicles - pickup trucks, some of the more rugged SUVs, the Tesla X, Subarus, etc.

I don't have them on my car. But I like that they hide the dirt and scratches.

Have never given my (or anyone else’s) tires a moment’s thought.

A lot of high end cars have black wheels an option or upgrade package. Why would it be low class if it costs a few thousand more and is more prominent on high-end brands??

As long as your car isn't obnoxiously large and polluting, you can drive whatever you like.

I will judge you if you drive a gas-guzzler, and I will judge you if you idle stupidly instead of turning off your motor.

The “murdered out” all black look is very “gangster” or “mafiaso”. That’s the optics you want?

Super trashy. Like you can’t afford nice wheels.

I probably wouldn’t even speak to someone with black painted wheels.
