Did you hear early that you were on the waitlist?

We got a notification today from a school that our child was on the waitlist. I was pretty surprised by this - I thought you didn't hear from schools about admission or waitlist until March 4. Is this typical?

That sounds unusual to me. Very surprising. You got an email? Or a notification to check Ravenna? Is this a mainstream school in DC?

What school did you hear from?

Yes. When my daughter was wait listed we received a call from the Admissions Director the week before decisions were released. . It did help to soften the blow.

thats really surprising unless you have another child already at the school or are legacy ?

PP, not OP. Yes, we have two siblings at the same school.

This only makes sense if you have an older child already at the school.

When our daughter was in BVR, they told us early that she was not ready for NCS and helped us navigate another school, their recommendation. I was kind of shocked but it all work d out.
