Preschool Waitlists

Anonymous
We live in Arlington and were recently disappointed to hear we were waitlisted at our top choice preschool for the fall. This isn't a full-time daycare, but a part-time 9-12 type of program. We are at the top of the waitlist. Does anyone have experience will how likely it is to get off the waitlist if you are in the top couple of spots?

Top of the wait-list/pool stands a very good chance of being offered placement in any school. Many families opt for several options and choose something else. Keep the faith!

In this area with people moving all the time I'd say you have a very very good chance.

You have a good chance. I will say that, unless the school is superior as far as location to your house or convenient to siblings’ school or whatever, I would not sweat one particular school. I have multiple kids and they’ve been in a combo of programs from church preschools to the school in McLean that parents seem to covet. It really comes down to nurturing teachers and an organized program. Looking back all of my kids have the fondest memories of the little no-name, simple preschool because it had the kindest teachers.

We are in the same situation; wondering the same, so would love to hear some other experiences.

Yes! We got into the 2 preschools after being waitlisted.
