EPF and Classroom Drivers Ed for Full IB Students at W-L

Anonymous
I believe EPF is still required… please let me know if it isn’t. Assuming the requirement is still in place, how do full IB students tend to fill it - like when and with what class? Do they often take EPF over the summer? Online or in-person, and which summer (before sophomore or junior year?)? Or do they tend to take IB Econ junior year and knock it out then? Similarly, when do they take in class drivers Ed? Are these semester classes or full year? Thanks!

Most students seem to take EPF over the summer. However, if your student wants to take IB Economics as part of their IB program, that will satisfy the EPF requirement (one of my kids did that and the other did the summer online class)

I have a junior and one who graduated last year and in-school drivers ed was never an option. Are they adding it back? Everyone we know pays for a driving school.

In school drivers Ed was on the CRF for a rising sophomore at W-L. I don’t know how it would work (like where would it fit?, could young sophomores take it, etc.).

I would ask your counselor. It definitely hasn't been there in the past. FWIW, long ago, my HS did driver's ed during P.E. time -- 10th grade was a semester of PE, one quarter of health and one quarter of driver's ed.

DS (full IB grad) took EPF in-class during the school year. I *think* he was only able to fit it into his schedule because he took a 0-period class, but I may be wrong. I can't remember if he took it in 10th or 11th grade.
