We received our welcome package and the transportation options are not clear. Does SJC run an afternoon bus to Bowie? What time?

There should be a separate page with bus info in your packet. In case you can’t find it, Bowie route is 6:20 @ art 197/450, 6:35 @ Seabrook/450, 7 @ Univ Blvd/E Campus in Hyattsville.

SJC parent here but north of DC. They will run a bus in the afternoon. I can’t speak to you specifics, but know they leave about 10 minutes after the school day ends. Most days that’s 2:50, but on Wednesdays and Drill Days, I believe that’s 2:10. Admissions should be able to answer specifics. While you wait til Monday, I’d look at how long the morning bus ride is and reverse that based on departure time for a very rough estimate for afternoon.

The afternoon buses go on the same routes as the morning buses (including to Bowie). They leave shortly after the school day ends, so the time varies slightly by day, and that is the only bus departure in the afternoon. If your child is participating in sports or other after school activities, evening transportation would be up to you to arrange.

As a side note: The current bus routes, morning schedules, and rates (including the route to Bowie) can be found on the Parents section of the website, which I have found to be a great source of information as an SJC parent.

Is there an activity/ late bus too?

There are no late buses. We did carpool for that. Usually a parent working downtown would get the kids. Mine started via the morning bus where my kid met other kids in the area and then we figured it out from there.
