My DD is working on her classes for next year. She's a good student and takes all intensified classes and one AP this year. Next year she's planning on taking all AP, DE, or IB classes except for Physics which will be regular. Is that crazy? Is this just what college bound juniors take? It seems like so much but she met with her advisor who agreed and her teachers signed off on it. |
It is crazy but this is what the top tier of students take. If she can do well with it and wants to target the most competitive schools, including UVA, then probably does need to.
My kids, however, stuck to "only" 3 AP/IB classes in junior year, going up to 4-5 in senior year. They both have ADHD so that was a factor in making that choice. That was more than enough challenge and, as it is, for my current junior she's struggling some with the workload. |
How many kids take AP classes in 9th? |
Yup. That’s exactly what my DD junior did. |
Pretty much what my junior did. |
