1883 Yellowstone spinoff

Is anyone watching 1883, the Yellowstone spinoff/sequel?

I enjoyed the first half of the season but it started losing me. The writers are much too pleased with themselves with Elsa’s soliloquies.

Visuals are beautiful and San Elliott is great and the premise is compelling…but now I am hate watching.

Anyone else watching?

Same here - started, liked it and trailed off. Taylor Sheridan does not know how to write women characters, they always are one extreme cliche or another. It makes me cringe.

And considering how slow the journey is to where they're going, the plot is moving faster than a bad day time soap.

No thanks. I've given up on it.

I love it and think it's the best TV I've watched.

Would love to see Sam and Elsa's story continue but she's in.... a bad place after last Sunday's episode.

It is CW young adult Western show. An 18 year old female may be vapid and self-centered, like Elsa, but doesn't mean I want to watch a show anchored by that character.

Don't have high hopes for the next spin off, 1932.

Me again, also since the actress can't fake cry tears they focus on her running nose, uck.

I loved the finale, and I didn't really expect to. Kinda was hoping Sam would return with Comanche healing potions, but it ended up making sense and explained how they settled there.

Yep love the show, sad about finale. Super good article out there somewhere about how McGraw and hill prepared for the final two episodes.
I need more Martin sensMeier in my life. —— he played Sam.

ok I skipped it but can you tell me what happens, as briefly as possible, so I don't have to watch it?

Does anyone care about spoilers being spilled??

OP here - I needed to finish my hate watching so I made it through the finale. It was long and slow but I will give the writers credit for an interesting/unexpected (at least until a few episodes ago) way to tell the story of how the Duttons settled Montana. But geez so much death and heartbreak. That wagon train was cursed poor Josef!)

And I kinda feel bad for the actress....pretty sure she thinks shes winning an Emmy and I dont have the heart to tell her

I'm sure that actress will be just fine, regardless.
