How to go about a second opinion from MFM- PPROM, Preterm birth, loss complications

Anonymous
Please help me. I am trying to figure out how best to go around getting a second opinion on pregnancy complications resulting in a loss. Currently, I am seeing a high-risk MFM at GW and wish to see a Dr to get a second opinion.

I lost my first child at 24 wks due to PPROM. I have very good insurance, can I just go to another high-risk Dr for a second opinion? anyone here who did something similar willing to share their experience.

Thank you

Yes, I went and got a second opinion - you need to request your records from GW for the purpose of getting it though. I highly recommend seeing Dr. Pinckert at Greater Washington. He was wonderful.

Just call and ask for a pre pregnancy consult. I saw perinatal associates of nova.

Yes. You can just go get a second opinion, but you need all your records and scans. Dr Pinckert great, though he was my Dr when I had pprom and delivered a micro preemie—he could not figure out what the cause was. I also love Hammersly.

Thank you, I just looked him up and he looks good. I was hoping to see someone in DC in case I decide to ditch GW and go with the other Dr. This one is far for me. Did he provide you care throughout your pregnancy rt or did you just go for a second opinion? NICU is important to me given the changes of next pre-term is higher for me.

Thank you. I hear good things about Dr. Hammersly. It sucks not knowing the cause. I hope and prat your premie is doing well.
