Louisa Jacobson in Guilded Age Disappointingly Bad

When I watched the first episode, I thought, whoever this actress is playing Marion, she must have connections because she is god awful. I didn't know until I googled after the episode that she is Meryl Streep's daughter! No wonder she is in this role. She is so awful, yet all the reviews of the show laud her. I don't get it. I have stuck with the show hoping she would get better, but she is just as bad in the 4th episode as she is in the 1st. Am I the only one who thinks this? The other actors are a bit wooden, but they are heads and toes soooooo much better than she is. She is cringey to watch, not to mention she looks just like the actress who played Cindy Brady from the Brady Bunch. So the point of my post is to see if anyone agrees with me! I feel so alone!

Another one of Streep’s daughters, Mamie Gummer, was really good on The Good Wife. Too bad she’s not the one in The Guilded Age, but she may be a little too old for the role.

I dislike Cynthia Nixon in every role she’s in, so I don’t know if that’s an indication of her acting or my own idiosyncrasies.

I usually love Christine Baranski, but this role doesn’t lend itself to her showing what she can really do.

I love the casting of the Russell family. I couldn’t believe that the waif daughter, who looks like a 15-16 year old, is actually played by a 27 year old!

I totally agree and had the same thought. I had no idea she was Meryl Streep's daughter. That explains it.

Love love love the show, though.
