How to learn how MoCo govt works

Is there a source of info for trying to learn how MoCo's govt works? Any kind of book or learning information? Would like to learn its structure, laws/rules/ordinances, how legislature passes things, etc.etc.

Have you looked at the website? Www.montgomerycountymd.gov

Start on the council page.

For budget, the actual budget books (PDFs) provide a good description at the beginning about the process.

And the county charter can be found on AM Legal

School stuff is more complicated. Even though county tax payers fund them, they are subject to state law.

For planning, you can look at the planning board website.
