| I thought I would share. I did this and it was like ripping the bandaid off. I wore double mask and took my mom for a long walk. I was worried about Covid and so was she but I realized that I didn’t want to get a call that she passed knowing I have been too Covid scared to visit. Please visit your elders. My mom cried when she saw me. She didn’t let on during our calls that she was so lonely and afraid. I hate this pandemic but facing my fears in a hopefully safe way was good for both of us. We are both vaccinated etc. Time to see family. |
+1 We have seen my parents multiple times. We’re all vaxxed and always masked. No transmission and much happiness. |
| How long has it been since you saw your mother? The nursing homes around here have been allowing visitors since early 2021. |
| Did you go all last spring/summer/fall without at least an outside visit? |
|
What on earth?
Why haven't you been to see your mother before this? |
| I don't understand how you haven't seen her at all? Makes no sense. |
Agree. According to my nursing home administrator wife, families could hardly wait to visit after Covid restrictions were lifted. I’m so sorry for your mom. |
| I checked the date on the OP, expected it to have been written at least a year ago. Glad you finally went to visit your mom. Guess no reason to make you feel bad about not having done it a while ago. |
