| I am 27 weeks and I can barely walk. I couldn’t get through the grocery store by myself. I had this a little with the previous pregnancy but not this bad. I just started PT but the moves I did now made my back hurt. I’m so frustrated. I can’t lay on my sides, I can hardly walk. What can I do?! What the heck is going to happen as I get bigger?! I have 2 other children!! |
| What part of hip? Did your pt give you a diagnosis? |
|
Do you have medical grade orthotics in your shoes? It will help pitch the pregnancy lordosis into the proper position and reduce swayback . Yes, you can do PT but this will help too!
I still use Foot and Ankle in Vienna, years after pregnancy if you want a rec. It may be pricey depending on insurance but totally worth it! I wore my first pair for years. |
| PP here. Also tell the PT your back is now hurting. They will adjust the exercises accordingly. |
| It’s why I didn’t get pregnant again. I recovered fully after one pregnancy but understand the pain might never go away if I had more kids. |

I’m sorry, I had awful hip pains with both pregnancies. All my pain actually peaked around 28-30 weeks and got a little better after that. I don’t know if all the ligaments starting to loosen more helped or what. But it was still bad enough to wake my multiple times per night to change sides. I never got a good answer for why it happened.
Try to keep moving if you can. But don’t overdo it. Good luck. |
| OP keep working with and talking to your PT. Some types of pain become less intense in the third trimester when the baby drops. Good luck. |
|
Op do you have SI joint dysfunction? I developed this suddenly at 30 weeks. I could barely walk across the room it was horrible, and I have a toddler too. By 34 weeks the pain evaporated. Then at 35 weeks it recurred in the opposite leg!! At 37 weeks the baby dropped and the pain went away permanently, and then I delivered at 38 weeks.
Anyway, just saying solidarity. My third tri was horrible because of this. But it may not last constantly until delivery … it may come and go as mine did |
| Magnesium spray, talk to dr first I’m not one |
| Sciatica. My chiropractor helped me through it. Both pregnancies at the three month point. I see a cane at times |
I hope this doesn’t happen! It took a year with my second to go away. |
I’ve been diagnosed with symphysis pubic disorder. It’s more my hips than a back thing. Very strong pain in my right groin and pelvis. |
| Have your pt check iliopsoas too, tps there can mimic spd. Imagine they have already, but helpful to check in with. |
