Has this happened to anyone? One or less admission? Which school is it? How many did you apply? We had a friend’s son applied to 20 and received only 1 admission. This kid had perfect GPA and SAT and captain of a sports team.
I am worried because my non perfect in terms of stats kid (Perfect in my eyes) applied to 20, and so far, no admissions. |
| 20 and no safeties? |
Definitely safeties! But only during RD rounds. |
| OP, that story sounds fishy. |
|
Agree. 20 schools is a lot...I find it hard to believe every single safety (if they truly were safeties) would reject this student.Sounds like an urban legend, IMHO.

| My kid applied to 1 and received 1 admission. |
| 1 acceptance and they are done? Or 1 acceptance for now, and still waiting on others? |
Yeah, I'm assuming you don't know the fully story about where the kid applied or what his profile really was. |
+1 I’ve heard parents complaining that their DC wasn’t accepted to a school, when actually they were accepted, but not into the limited enrollment program they requested. |
| This feels like a bad attempt to freak people out with the added bonus of twice mentioning submitting 20 applications. |
| 1 safety. 19 reaches. Why not? It is a lottery and u should go for it as long as you have the safety. |
| Back when I was applying, my friend, a good student from a suburban Chicago high school got rejected everywhere she applied. Late spring, she then applied and got into Connecticut College (perhaps through a connection). I always thought that ended pretty well considering. |
| I'm reading OP as saying 20 applications and only 1 admission "so far". |
| My kid did ED. One application, one admission. |
| In the late 90s I applied to Georgetown and GW. Was waitlisted at GT and accepted to GW with a very generous merit scholarship. |
