University of Georgia Chancellor is an anti-education Republican. Cross off another state system.

Anonymous

As long as Republicans oppose higher education and try to tear down universities from within, Republican states are not going to be good places to send our kids.

This is a talent based global economy, and states need to work to keep up, not destroy education for political advantage.

The guy is anti-healthy school lunch too. (Because it’s good for corporate food industry profits of course.)

Last week, the Trump administration finalized a rule that will weaken nutrition standards governing what kids are served in the school lunch line. This rollback had been in works for more than a year—Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue first signaled his intention in May 2017, just weeks into his new job. But now, one key component of the final rule is different from what he proposed back then. And you probably won’t be shocked to hear that it’s worse, not better, for children’s health.

Bad for education at the primary and secondary level, anti-intellectual, anti-education at the university level.

Bad for Georgia and bad for the students there.

Enjoy Pitt OP.

UGA’s star is rising even though you simplistically hate everything southern. Except probably Emory.

Let's see how the university history professors teach about "stop the steal" and the insurrection and their new Chancellor's role in it.

Let's stop with these stupid democratic talking points. In my view Democratic leaders and policies have done more to destroy public education and public universities than any Republican leaders. See what the Democratic political appointees have done to the UC system in the last 10 years, as opposed to the Republican leader of Purdue for instance. No contest that it is the Dem politicians that are the anti-intellectual political ideologues who are intent of destroying enlightenment-based rational thought and science at universities.

NP.. as a former R, I don't find the #stopthesteal rhetoric and rallies intellectual, rational or fact based. And don't get me started on the anti-science messaging from the uber right wing.

I can get behind a moderate R like Hogan, who believes in vaxx, using masks when needed, and that 1/6 was an attempt to over turn our election results (because that's exactly what that was), but I can't get behind anyone who continues to espouse the stop the steal lie. That's just beyond rational thought when court after court have dismissed the cases.

Pretty sure beating the crap out of cops with flag poles on January 6th was not a "talking point".

NP. Having an anti-education platform as chancellor is a grave concern, not a "talking point." You seem to belittle or denigrate because you are partisan. Can we look at the education implications here? They are not good.

Really sorry your DC didn't get in, OP. But go ahead - you just "cross it off." We got it.

But maybe it will be in the history classes at U of G. Sounds like a fantastic education.
