State Department/Diplotots waitlist

If you got off the waitlist for an infant placement, how long did it take?

I signed up when I was pregnant and heard back when kid was 3.

Seriously, the daycare is named Diplotots?!! Oh my God...

We got on the waitlist when my wife was pregnant and we were offered a spot 2.5 years later. Kiddo started this winter. We were at another daycare, but switched to Diplotots. It’s saving us a lot of money.

OP if you don't get an answer here, I would suggest you post your question on FSO Moms or Trailing Spouses.

We signed up when I was 7 weeks pregnant and got my spot as my four month maternity leave was ending.

Signed up when I was 1-1.5 months pregnant and received a spot when child was over 2 years old. The facilities (at Columbia Plaza) might have been ok for an infant, but did not feel adequate for a toddler. We ended up using a great neighborhood daycare/school option instead for the same cost.

The daycares at government agencies all have punny names. There's Just Us Kids at the DOJ and Tiny Findings at the GAO.

Got on the waiting list immediately when pregnant. They finally had a spot when our daughter was 18 months. We transferred there and were able to get a spot for our second kid as an infant. When our son was a baby, about 75% of the infant spots were taken by siblings of kids already at the center.
