I just realized I left one bag of groceries in the car because it was the only reusable bag I had brought so I guess I overlooked it. It had two packages of meat that I was going to use to make sliders tonight.
It was in the car for a little over 2 hours. Its cold outside but imagine the car is warmer than outside temps. Is it safe to cook? |
I would use it.
It’s fine
I’d use it too.
Did this once in summer and had to sell the car….
I would use it. Some people in here will dissent. I have done it many times with no ill effect.
I think 2 hours is fine. Smell it
Do you have a meat thermometer? Cook to 165 and eat some kefir/yogurt after. |
I'm pretty psycho about ground meat food safety but I would eat it after it was checked with the meat thermometer.
I'd toss because it's ground beef. Steak is sterile on inside, but ground beef is not.
I’d definitely use it. It’s 32 outside.
At current temperatures, and assuming it wasn't in a heated garage? It's fine. I have deliberately left groceries in my car at these temperatures (not raw meat, but a take & bake pizza that was too big to fit in my fridge). It's colder than my refrigerator in my car right now.
Are you near DC right now? It’s colder outside than my refrigerator.
Is this a serious question?
For real. 2 hours. In the winter. C’mon. People have some serious anxiety and paranoia around here |
