How much independent playtime for 2 year old?

Anonymous
Is 2 hours of independent playtime spread over 2-3 seasons too much?

Assume baby is engaged with and with lots of love and stimulation for the rest of the time.

Not too much if they are content.

Totally depends on the child.

Not too much. I let mine have as much as she tolerates at home. She is engaged all day at daycare 40h a week so there's no shortage of engaged playtime.

DD is just 1.5 but we encourage as much independent play as she wants. She’s home with a very engaged nanny and always seems to want to play alone when she comes home from their morning outing.

My extrovert couldn't do this, my introvert isn't 2 yet and can do this.

Thanks

I sometimes work on the weekend and my husband wants to relax more instead of just engaging with the baby so we let the baby entertain himself for 2 hours. We recently started increasing that to 2.5 - 3 and the baby does not seem to
Mind. That way I can work and my husband can relax.
