Butter or vegetable oil: which makes muffins moister?

Box says I can use either melted butter or vegetable oil.

Thanks!

Not sure but IMO butter always tastes better and is plenty moist. Unless there is some delicate flavor it overpowers.

Butter. You can add an extra egg yolk too.

Half butter, half coconut oil for most things gives a fantastic texture. Full coconut oil for brownies. Don’t use for bake sales, though, as some people are allergic and its not a common ingredient to expect in home baked goods.

Butter tastes better but oil will be more moist.

This is why muffins and cakes call for oil but cookies call for butter.

Butter has water that will evaporate (so the moisture is leaving the final product, this dryer). Salted butter has a higher moisture content than unsalted.
