There was a thread about this phenomenon one time and it fascinated me. That 2 people could have the same thing (a job, a car, whatever) and if that person was rich, it was classy or indicative of wealth and worldliness, but if they were poor, it was trashy or indicative of lower class. (In the eyes of general society/ NOT in my own eyes! Just to clarify!)
Ones that come to mind for me: Speaking a second language at home Owning horses Having 4 kids |
Having old furniture
Driving old car |
Eating cheese as a meal.
Not paying taxes. Not working. |
Good ones! Not having/paying for health insurance. |
Breeding dogs / not spaying and neutering dogs |
Debt!
(The rich call it leverage) |
Really? I didn't know this one. |
Raising chickens |
Getting money from the government
Having 4+ kids |
I agree- lots of pet / animal stuff. Like having 6 dogs- maybe Queen Elizabeth and it’s the height of class , or maybe it’s your drug addicted neighbor in the condemned house around the block. Both profiles fit. |
"vintage" (second hand) clothing
clotheslines growing veggies in the front yard excessive "artistic" make up asking for special favors/treatment from service people |
Skipping meals
Being a single parent |
Growing your own food for sure |
HUNTING!!! |
Cocaine |
