Sleepaway camp 13 year old boy?

My 13 year old nephew has never been to camp...any camp. He's been through A LOT. He has 5 younger siblings and the two oldest will go to sleepaway camp and the 4 youngest can come to day camp with my son and stay with us for a week. It really needs to be the same week due to how challenging it is to plan so we are looking for the 1st week of August. Most camps seem to stop the week before!

He loves the outdoors, hiking, camping, fishing, and is extremely creative!!! I saw the "Living School" in charlottesville seemed to have an awesome program that he would love but they have cancelled it this summer due to covid

Boy scouts are done by that week and the overnight camps near my home (I live in the shenandoah valley) are not available; they have just a sporadic week here or there, it's not consistent through the summer.

I think I found some possible day camps but they don't give the whole "camp experience"...he's too old for the one my son goes to as it goes to 12.

Not sure if they are still operating but when my son was younger Camp Roanoke was fantastic. It ran through midAugust when he was there about 8 years ago.

Try in the Camps, Workshops, and Classes forum. You can search for past posts, or ask for new recs. It will help if you say where you’re located and how far you’d be able to drive/fly.
