Wake Forest is one of the schools that gets the smart but lazy lazy, privileged white kids, many from best local privates, who partied in HS and want to party in college. They don’t need money and have parents who want them in a school that sounds respectable.
4 kids from my kids private in ED. All academically capable but didn’t try -much more interested in drinking and getting high. |
And no sour grapes here. My kid would never consider applying to Wake. |
| Good for you! |
| 83k next year. Not worth it. Glad my kid lost interest. |
| My kid just got in RD (3.98 GPA/4.53 wGPA/35 ACT). I was very surprised to see how highly Wake Forest was ranked and, given that fact, how it has such a (relatively) high admissions rate. Kid also got into Northeastern with very good merit aid. Interested in business and right now is picking between Northeastern, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, and JMU. Still waiting to hear from Harvard/Yale/Duke, but obviously those are longshots, particularly given rejection at Williams and WL's at Amherst and UVa. I think Northeastern is likely where he'll end up (he really liked in when we visited in the fall, both the campus and the coop program, and being in Boston is attractive to him), but he wants visit Wake Forest and VT. Bank account is hoping he doesn't fall in love with WF! |
Keep in mind that at WF, students have to apply to the business program after 2 years. They don’t take everyone. Big turnoff to us; if I’m paying $83k for college I expect my kid to get preferred major. |
Liar. It's called Work Forest for a reason. You are a troll and your story never happened |
