| Is it worth staying given the $250 increase and terrible tennis program? |
|
Only you can answer that.
What are you other options? Waitlist for other pools can be long. |
| I mean it's still about $200 cheaper than High Point, and basically equal to Lee Graham. It sounds like PH has a ton of deferred maintenance and really low reserves. The current board is trying to preserve the pool and rebuild the reserves- this seems like good management to me. The fact is- running a neighborhood pool that only operates for 3 months of the year with a limited membership is quite expensive. All these pools were built in the 50's and having more and more renovation and maintenance needs. |
| If you have other options, then go for it. Without other options, it's a personal decision. We have young kids so it's a necessity and we will have to eat the increase. |
| High Point was in the same boat about 3-4 years ago. They hiked the fees and levied a substantial assessment on members. Glad PH voted not to go the assessment route. |
| I can’t wait to stop paying for poplar heights but my kids love it and all their friends go. To me that’s worth it, but it’s a shotty facility. But my tweens could care less about that. |
the problem is that in their newsletter, they said there's another $150K thing they want to pay for next year, so guess what? Rates are going up again next year! |
| Wow! I just looked at their website. $2709 to join and another $640 in dues for one person? |
