I learned about Peter and Natasha in 2006 when the show started in DC. Listened to the Kane Show for years and years but finally stopped listening to them once I realized Danni and John were getting on my nerves way too much. I followed Natasha's blog throughout the years as well. Mostly because her daughters are so darn cute that I just love to see them in their sweet outfits. Her topics were also interesting at times but it always bothered me that she couldn't correctly use its/it's, their/there, were/we're, to/too, etc. Overall, from what I heard on the radio and saw on the blog posts, my general impression was that Peter wasn't a big spender--he's an Old Navy guy--and she is--frequent designer brands for many things, decorating and redecorating the same spaces, elaborate birthday parties, having her 4 and 6 year old have their hair dyed for the summer at a salon. Sure, the home was both of theirs and so are the girls but those things were definitely not Peter's ideas nor would many men think them up. Though it seemed to give Peter some anxiety that Natasha spent money all the time, it seemed like he was in love with her/committed enough to deal with it to some extent. Even with the many car accidents Natasha had, and there were many throughout all the years, not just recently, he always cared about her safety first and the repair costs later. The recent house purchase seemed to me like a Natasha driven thing. They had a 4 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom home beforehand with two daughters and repeated mention of no more children desired. Then they bought an 8 bedroom, 8 bathroom home for double the price of their old home while actually getting LESS on their old home than what they originally bought it for AND getting her a new car very shortly after AND even with her brand new home she blogged about renovation projects (unnecessary ones, like repainting and redesigning the mudroom).

To me, she always came off selfish and he came off as a workaholic. In the end, those things probably just got amplified or at least the perception of them did. I don't think anything new really happened for her to leave, I think she just couldn't take more of the things that annoyed her about him. In turn, I think he just finally gave into the fact that it wasn't going to work after she left the way she did--it was just another reminder of who she truly is and how that isn't a good match for someone with his personality. They didn't seem like a great fit to begin with, but I did think they would make it work for longer than it has been. His OCD and ADHD diagnoses and her fibromyalgia diagnosis, meh, they were just icing on the cake, in my opinion, because those symptoms had been going on for both prior to the diagnoses.

I would say that is a pretty accurate assessment.

I always liked her blog/thought she seemed likable. but looking back, you're right--parties were excessive, girls did not need their hair dyed, etc.

The parties were excessive and lavish, but dying the hair was very cute. Nothing wrong with that. The Katy Perry party was was over the top though.

There is definitely a weird vibe/dynamic between Kane and Rose. If my husband talked to another woman the way he does to Rose, and posed in pictures like he does with her, I'd be extremely upset. Also, Rose is THE WORST addition to Kane Show. Danni sucks too but Rose takes the cake. She provides absolutely NOTHING.. she brings ZEROOO to the table. Her contribution to the show is a fake laugh and saying "I loovvve you Danni'" "I lovvveee you" to something funny.

I still listen to the show though because I really do love listening to Kane. I wish Samy and Sarah could come back. Sarah and Kane were very close, sad to see that ended.

You guys know me well enough by now that when things get quiet here on the blog it’s usually because life has gotten crazy at home. The last month has been one of the tougher ones, I can’t really get into details publicly but it’s been an enormous amount of both emotional & physical ups & downs. I’d almost rather take all the bad at once than these hopeful ups followed by intermittent surprise downs, the stress makes me not as nice a person as I’d like to be & it certainly isn’t very compatible with being a blogger since when I’m going through a hard time I naturally go into my little home cave & keep to myself until life feels light enough to emerge.

So Natasha tries to blog for a living but lacks basic grammar? And some people follow the blog because the kids are kind of cute? (Note that several posters on Instagram have reported that the kids look like twins of Kane himself which isn't a solid model of attractiveness for females, if at all --- however I actually think Natasha is quite ugly including in the snout so better to look like Kane).

One can but hope ... the show has been stale for quite some time. Per my 13 year old who says how long can the John sat like an idiot intern... No demographic I know of between 12 and 60 wants to listen any more. And this is not intended to support STM. They truly stink - no one I know even wants to try to listen to what they babble about. Kelly Colliz is also uninteresting as hell (embarrassing her local alma mater in my view). So - for talk it's WTOP. For music thank goodness we can pick up LA and NYC stations on satellite.

I listen to them every day and I've never picked up on a weird vibe with Kane and Rose. And the only picture they have together recently- not including website group pictures- is a selfie of them on Rose's Instagram that looks entirely innocent to me. If anything, I pick up on a more father-daughter vibe with them- that Kane is protective over her. Not jealous. She IS only 25.

I think she came from an average family. Never read or heard anything that indicated that she came from big money if you're thinking that perhaps she was originally accustomed to a lavish lifestyle. Her family is from Tampa, Natasha and Peter live in Potomac.

I don't really see a problem with paying some of grandmother's bills. Maybe she didn't set herself up for retirement and they were helping her out, it's sweet.

You're just being nasty, that's not very nice. Most people here are just trying to figure out what happened, not be cruel.

The hair was cute but also over the top in execution. She had previously done a tutorial on using chalk for a temporary kid hair dye, that seemed age appropriate and price appropriate. To take a four and six year old to a professional salon for hair dying? Yeah, a little excessive.

They clearly had different priorities. Despite not liking her spending so much, he let it go because so long as he was able to keep working, he was okay with her keeping herself busy with the money. Conversely, she enjoyed getting what she wanted when she wanted so, though she minded him working so much she also kind of let it go because the money was a higher priority. That setup clearly got old though.
