Been covered numerous times. You go if they call, academy > MLSN/ECNL. It's the only option avaliable in this area. And that's IF you can't get offers from outside academies with a homestay/residential program.

Thank you to this poster. Agree. If you have no other options you go. But it also depends on your goals and motivation. If you're trying to go to Europe you don't go. They will mess everything up, not train you appropriately and then demand money for you when you haven't grown as a player as much as a competitor in Europe.

DCU boys looked terrific. My boy was on one of the opposite teams.

It really was a great tournament, and my boy really enjoyed it.

It wasn't a tournament that DCUA officially participated in was it? Just players getting together to play in. Does DCUA officially do anything in the off-season, or even pre-season? Philly Union, Red Bulls and other academies play in tourneys overseas, what does DCUA do?

I know for a fact, Charlotte FC oversee their kids year round. training, nutrition, mental health etc....

Yeah agree with this. Can't get too high about beating up on local teams. If that didn't happen that would be sad.

What's going on at DCU, doc fired and now u19 got clubed by ARL ecnl 3-0. Fire those coaches previously doc hired, clean house

What about the scouts? Doesn't the process start there? DCU needs to change up on the talents they've been selecting. Based on the results across the age groups, big tall & fast with so-so skills isn't holding up.

My U19 is a Sophomore playing D1

My kids plays against dcu 2x a year
Based on what I see with my own two eyes, they have several small players and none of their teams are on average bigger than any MLS Next teams in the division

Your kid's size is not the reason why not selected
