Is there a benefit for candidates to wait til the deadline to file?

| Looking at the Montgomery County race. Several incumbents have not filed to run yet and the deadline is February 22 I think. Like Jawando and Katz. Does that mean they aren't sure they will run? Or is there a benefit to waiting til the last minute? And there is one person I thought was running for Board of Election, but he hasn't filed yet either. Just curious. |
