I know this could be an old wives tale…but would love to compare stats.
At 6 weeks 3 days had a heart rate of 122. My previous baby was 180 at 8 weeks three days. Unfortunately my sonograms happened different weeks this time…so it’s hard to compare. My first was a girl, so it matches the theory that girls have faster beats above 140. |

So all of the old wives tales (including heart rate) told me girl. Well, I’m having a boy.
I was so sure it was going to be a girl too because of the heart rates. Here is what mine were: 6+2 (165bmp) 7+3 (163bmp) 8+3 (173bmp) 10+3 (176bmp) 12+4 (164bmp) I’m now 20 weeks and his heart rate has been in the mid 150s consistently. |
| Two girls. Heart rates between 110 and 120 for both at 6w2d and 6w4d. By 8 weeks, both were in the 170s. |

| Whatever the old wives tale was, my DD was the opposite. It's fun to guess but not accurate. However, the tendency of girls to cause higher HcG/more morning sickness did prove to be true with me. |
| My boys had high heart rates and my girl lower |
I’m the PP from 13:08, and this held true for me, too. My first betas were nearly 3000 with both pregnancies, at 14dp5dt with first DD (IVF) and at 21dpo with my second DD. |
